We all know Jane Fonda, Cher, Michael Douglas, and Clint Eastwood, have gone under the knife to retain smooth (as possible) skin at their advanced ages (83, 75, 76, 91!). There’s a good reason all the scalpel-wielding plastic surgeons call Beverly Hills home. People that make a living on their looks live there.

Still, surgical facial surgery requires a hefty bankroll, steely pain tolerance, the luxury of a 3-week recovery, and a solid support system. Celebrities find most of these easy to come by.

The good news for the rest of us is that thanks to the galloping pace of science and technology, much facial rejuvenation now occurs without the glint of a steel scalpel or the anesthesiologist’s descending mask.

The non-surgical facelift, where patients rely on collagen regeneration, skin tightening, and fat eliminating procedures, is gaining on results achieved in the surgical removal of sagging skin and excess fat. And at a fraction of the price. Go science!

The gap between the surgical and non-surgical facelift is narrowing so dramatically, in fact, many dermatologists, estheticians, and cosmetic practitioners are claiming the surgical facelift is unnecessary for anyone under 65.

What is a non-surgical facelift?

A nonsurgical facelift combines several minimally invasive procedures for an overall rejuvenating effect.

None of these methods require incisions, general anesthesia, or overnight hospitalization. Minimally invasive procedures are often called “lunch-time” procedures, meaning cosmetic specialists can complete them in an hour or less and the recipient can return to work with no one the wiser.

Even the combination of several minimally invasive procedures amounts to less than the cost of a surgical facelift (average cost $8,000, but can run to $25,000.) The typical dermal fillers, fat injections, chemical peels and abundant moisturizing making up the non-surgical facelift most often do not exceed $1,000. While these treatments brighten the face, fill in lines, and provide some additional volume, for overall revitalization they can fall short of client goals.

Non-surgical facelift 2021: bring in the devices

Release the medical device engineers!

Once they got wind that surface-level skin issues were not being served appropriately, the scientists and tinkerers of the world broke out radiofrequency skin shrinking devices, collagen-stimulating microneedles, fat-sculpting heat probes, and fat-sucking micro-cannulae. Signs of aging like wrinkles, age spots, jowls and wide pores don’t have a chance against this team of biomechanical superheroes.

Today, at Essex Medspa, we create the non-surgical facelift appropriate for your goals, skin type, and current skin challenges. To start with overall face and neck skin tightening, we recommend:

Morpheus8: Fully FDA-approved this InMode technology leverage the two most powerful skin rejuvenation technologies–microneedling and radiofrequency– to prompt your body to ramp up new collagen production needed to plump skin, tighten the deep layers that make up the skin’s foundation, and shrink underlying fat. Research has shown that Morpheus8 is also very effective at shrinking pores, reducing age spots and diminishing wrinkles.

FaceTite:  Utilizing slightly more robust technology, FaceTite uses radiofrequency to melt fat, tighten the layer under the skin, and tighten the dermal septal bands that loosen with age.

Liposuction:  Those prioritizing reduction of fat around the jowls and chin can opt for minimal liposuction to physically remove it. Followed up by the skin tightening and firming effects of FaceTite and Morpheus8, youthful contours reassert themselves, melting years from your face. Essex Medspa’s internal medicine board-certifed Dr. Jill Sohayda performs all facial liposuction procedures.

These overall treatments go far in rolling back the years. Still, many of our patients at Essex Medspa have additional issues that need to be addressed to complete an overall rejuvenation. Dr. Sohyada and her team of expert estheticians and nurses often add in:

Dermal fillers for under eye troughs and nasolabial folds

Botox and Dysport for forehead lines

Kybella to reduce a double chin

PRP Hair Restoration for thinning hair

If you’re interested in how Morpheus8 can diminish wrinkles, age spots, skin laxity, large pores, and more while getting you back to your routine within 24 hours, please call 303-973-3683 or ask your questions on our online form. We’ll be sure to get back to you by the next business day.
