Do you think Michelle Obama’s arms, Jennifer Lopez’s abs, and Jennifer Anniston’s thighs come from turning down every gourmet brownie offered to them at a party?

No one is that strong. And they go to a lot of parties.

More likely, they’re using a little cosmetic support.

But surgery involves scalpels and blood, general anesthesia and weeks in bed.

Would you be a wimp to want to skip all that?

No. And now we have a non-surgical device proven to shrink skin by 40% AND reduce underlying fat.

If the skin on your arms, thighs, belly and back is starting to sag or if you have stubborn fat pockets, BodyTite by InMode has been getting our patients great results here at Essex MedSpa. BodyTite is the most advanced, minimally invasive fat removal procedure available today.

In a BodyTite procedure, the doctor makes a small incision and passes a narrow wand under the skin. This wand emits radiofrequency (RF) thermal energy, which is carefully monitored with both internal and external thermometers. The RF or thermal energy wand melts fat, sparks the body’s natural production of collagen, tightens skin, and tightens skin’s connective fibers, leaving smoother, youthful-looking skin. The hollow cannula (blunt-ended needle) removes the liquified fat. The doctor closes the small incisions.

BodyTite before and after

BodyTight vs. Traditional Liposuction: will the latest technology prove superior to a procedure decades old?

Sure: liposuction removes more fat, up to 12 pounds if you go to a plastic surgeon with questionable ethics. But with the fat removed, you may be left with a deflated balloon of sagging skin.

In that case, you may opt for a surgical tummy tuck or similar skin removal procedure on the area where fat was removed. A quick Google image search on “tummy tuck scar” reveals photos of abdomens with noticeable lines running from hip to hip. Some scars heal up thin and close to skin color. Others remain thick and angry for life. BodyTite requires only a tiny incision large enough to allow the narrow wand in. Two stitches and it’s sealed.

Scar size isn’t the only reason patients and doctors are abandoning surgical liposuction for BodyTite, however.

Liposuction also involves the risk of general anesthesia, a long recovery time (5 to 7 days before returning to work and 2 to 3 weeks before resuming exercise), compression garments (worn  for 1 – 2 months) and noticeable discomfort (intense soreness for up to 4 days before it begins to diminish.)

BodyTite, on the other hand, involves only local anesthesia. BodyTite patients stay home from work for 2 to 3 days, exercise after 2 to 3 weeks, and wear a compression garment for 2 weeks. As far as pain, most BodyTite patients report mild pain for 2 to 3 days with minimal swelling and bruising.

Patients also appreciate that BodyTite involves just one procedure. Further, with no general anesthesia or operating room and staff costs, this minimally invasive procedure costs far less than the surgical tummy tuck, breast lift, thigh lift or butt lift.

Of course, those who’ve recently had major weight loss do require skin surgery during which large volumes of skin are excised. But if you’re close to your goal weight and would like to zap some areas of stubborn fat and loose skin back to its younger years, BodyTite could be for you.
