Laser vein treatment is a great way to fade small veins not treatable with sclerotherapy. There is minimal downtime and results are gradual after treatment.
- Avoid aspirin or blood-thinning products (fish oil, vitamin E, Ibuprofen, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) for 7-9 days before the procedure.
- Avoid shaving or applying lotion to your legs. You should also be well hydrated and avoid caffeine the day of treatment.
- You may need to bring compression stockings to your visit. This will be discussed when booking your appointment.
- It is recommended to walk immediately after treatment but avoid strenuous activity and heavy lifting for at least 1 week.
- Avoid blood thinners (aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E, ibuprofen, etc.) for 3-4 days following the procedure.
- Generally speaking, treated veins will look worse before they look better. Veins will lighten gradually over several months.
