What Are Fillers?

Fillers are based in Hyaluronic acid. This naturally exists in your body and exists in almost every living thing. It binds to water and can lubricate aspects of your body, and even act as a shock absorber in joints. In the face, it can act as a method of transport of nutrients and work to regulate water balance in skin.

Consisting of stabilized, non-animal hyaluronic acid, fillers are a soft injectable gel. The gel is tissue-friendly and actually resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body. It is no permanent.

How Do They Work?

Fillers work by boosting the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid. Fillers are able to both revitalize and add volume to the skin, and diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles. This overall gives a natural and soft look. 

Why Use Fillers?

Filler injections provide an easy way to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It can allow your skin to look more smooth, and provide an overall youthful appearance. One single treatment can be seen instantly and may last anywhere from 5 to 9 months. Filers are extremely natural looking, and no don’t affect your facial expression. In addition, as your face changes over time, dermal fillers allow you to control your looks and allow you to age more subtly.

Juvederm is a well known filler that is used to smooth away unwanted wrinkles by using a gel made of hyaluronic acid. This is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that hydrates and adds volume. 

Juvederm Voluma™ XC

Another form of Juvederm is Juvederm Voluma™ XC. This is specifically designed to instantly add volume to the areas in your cheeks, for a more contoured and youthful look. It usually lasts up to two years.

Radiesse®

Radiesse is a filler to replenish lost volume and stimulate the production of natural collagen over time. Results can last up to one year.
