- No anti-inflammatories for 5 days prior to treatment. This includes ASA, ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil and similar.
For 12 hours before treatment:
- No applications of Retin-A products
- No auto-immune therapies(please consult with the physician first)
For 24 hours before treatment:
- No sunburns or extended sun exposure
- Skin must be clean and free of makeup or other products
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.
- Makeup can be applied after 48 hours.
- Avoid all blood thinners such as anti-inflammatories, fish oil, Vitamin E and Ginko Biloba for 2 days after treatment.
- If prone to cold sores, Valacyclovir (Valtrex) or Acyclovir should be taken for 2 to 3 days prior to treatment and continued for a full week.
- Coumadin and other blood thinners are not a contraindication to dermal fillers but please inform us prior to treatment if you are on these medications.
- You are NOT a candidate if you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breastfeeding.
