PRP with Microneedling

PRP with Microneedling in Littleton, CO

Microneedling is a process in which hundreds of tiny injections are made using a handheld “pen”. After applying the PRP on the skin, the pen creates tiny injection points, allowing the nutrient rich PRP to enter the skin at a deeper level. The result is an increase in collagen and elastin production, leaving the skin looking youthful and glowing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is PRP with Microneedling?

PRP with Microneedling is a non-invasive treatment using microneedling to push PRP, platelet-rich plasma into the skin.  PRP contains growth factors that will stimulate collagen production and remodeling for a more youthful appearance.

How is PRP obtained?

PRP comes from your own body.  A small amount of blood is drawn and prepped to obtain a serum rich in growth factors.

How long does the treatment take?

The entire process takes about an hour. A series of 4 treatments, 1 every 4 to 6 weeks for 4 months is recommended.

Is the treatment painful?

No.  There is minimal discomfort with this treatment. The skin will be anesthetized with special topical numbing to make the experience quite comfortable and easy.

When will I notice the results?

Collagen regeneration takes about 6 to 8 weeks.  With each treatment, you will notice more improvement.

Is there any downtime?

No. You are able to return to normal activities immediately following treatment. However, it is recommended that you avoid exercise, recurrent bending, heavy lifting and massaging of the area for at least 4 hours after treatment.

Are there any side effects of the treatment?

There may be temporary swelling, redness, bruising, headache or local discomfort. Rarely, there may be a mild lowering of the eyelid. This is temporary and resolves in a few weeks. Some patients may have an uneven or incomplete response to Botox®.
