Where can photo rejuvenation be used?
It is primarily used on the face but can also be used to treat the neck, chest, and hands.
How many treatments will I need?
After a series of 4 or 5 treatments, you will notice improved skin texture and reduced pore size. The time between treatments is about 4 weeks.
When will I see results and how long will they take?
Results are noticeable after even one treatment. Improvement in your skin will continue over the weeks following your treatment. The results are long-lasting and are most noticeable after repeat treatment sessions. With a good skin care regimen, results may last up to 2 years.
How long do the treatments sessions last?
Treatment sessions last a few minutes to 30 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated.
What does it feel like?
With each pulse of light, which lasts less than a second, you may notice a slight tingling sensation. No anesthesia is required.
Is there anything I should avoid prior to treatment?
Yes. You should avoid sun exposure, tanning beds and the use of self-tanning lotion for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment. It is recommended that you do not receive Botox injections in the area of treatment during the week prior to your appointment.
Is there any downtime?
No. You are able to return to normal activities immediately following treatment. You should avoid hot tubs and saunas while the skin is red. It is recommended that you avoid sun exposure, tanning beds and self-tanning lotion in the areas treated for 2 months after treatment. You must apply sunscreen daily to maintain the desired effect on your skin. Detailed aftercare instructions will be provided to you by Dr. Sohayda at the time of your treatment.
Are there any side effects of treatment
You may notice some mild redness after the treatment that will resolve over 24 to 48 hours. Occasionally mild swelling is present as well. On rare occasions, pigment changes or infections may occur.
