Dermal Fillers at Essex MedSpa
Dermal fillers can restore volume and diminish fine lines and wrinkles. These can be used for cheeks, temples, and lips. Composed of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body contributing to skin hydration and volume, dermal fillers are designed to correct signs of aging, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and restore lost facial volume. We offer both Juvederm (Voluma, Vollure, Volux, and Volbella) and Restylane (Lyft, Refyne, Defyne, Kysse, and Eyelight) products.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where are Dermal Fillers used?
Dermal fillers are effective in creating a lifting effect and thereby diminishing the appearance of deep grooves in the lower face such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines. They can add volume to the cheek and midface as well as enhance lips instantly and smooth fine lines around the mouth.
When are the results of Dermal Fillers seen?
The effects are seen immediately after treatment with hyaluronic acid fillers. The results may be slightly exaggerated for the first few days but the final results will be noticeable in two weeks after treatment with hyaluronic acid fillers.
How long do Dermal Fillers last?
The results will vary depending on an individual’s skin structure, lifestyle, and age as well as the degree of perfection desired. For the majority of patients, the effects will last for 12 months or longer with hyaluronic acid fillers. The duration is determined by the type of filler and the amount used.
Who is a good candidate for Dermal Fillers?
The risk of complications is very low so almost anyone who would like to soften facial lines or enhance lip borders can receive treatment with dermal fillers.
What is the procedure like?
The procedure takes only 30 to 40 minutes. If anesthesia is necessary, it can be easily achieved with a topical anesthetic or a local anesthetic placed by your skin care professional. Most fillers have lidocaine mixed in to minimize any discomfort.
Is there any downtime?
Downtime is minimal. It is recommended to avoid exercise and alcohol for 12 hours after treatment.
Are there any side effects of the treatment?
There may be some mild swelling and redness in the area of treatment. This is a normal result of the injection and generally resolves in 72 hours. Mild bruising may also be seen.
