About PRP

PRP Facial treatments are relied on by celebrities to rejuvenate their skin and erase signs of aging like lines, wrinkles, creases, and folds of skin. PRP therapy has the effect of restoring the layer of collagen and elastin under the skin so that it is more effective in supporting its suppleness. Dermatologists may choose to administer the PRP injection directly into the lines and problem areas. Alternatively, they may combine the treatment with microneedling. Using a micropen, they create minute pores and massage the PRP serum into the skin so that it regains its youthful glow.

What is PRP user for?

Can I get a PRP treatment alone or in combination with other treatments?

PRP can be injected alone in to the skin to promote enhanced volume to the skin, however it cannot be injected into the lips. PRP alone can be a great treatment for scars reduction as well. The best results are seen when PRP is combined with other treatments. When PRP is combined with micro needling it is referred to as a Vampire Facial. This treatment is great for fine lines, acne scarring and pigmentation. Typically this require a series of 3 to 6 treatments. PRP is a great treatment add on after fractional CO2 laser. This combination treats fine lines, acne scarring and pigmentation with a faster response and healing time then micro needling, but there is more downtime.

Another option is to inject PRP immediately after dermal fillers.  This will enhance and prolong results seen with dermal fillers. This treatment is known as the Vampire Facelift.

PRP can also be used to stimulate hair regrowth on the scalp.  It is a great option for both men and women to help with areas of thinning.  This a great way to restore and maintain hair with minimal downtime.

What do I need to do prior to treatment?

Be sure to avoid Vitamin E, anti inflammatories, and aspirin for 48 hours prior to treatment. Drink plenty of water the morning prior to your treatment to ensure you are adequately hydrated since you will be having a small amount of blood drawn.

Is there any downtime after treatment?

The downtime will depend on the specific type of treatment you receive with PRP. In general, PRP tends to speed healing time. Specific post care instructions will be given to you at your visit.
